Merchant's Lane, Kuala Lumpur

First time after several years since the last time I was here in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia. So much has changed, especially the food and coffee scenes. Lunch is the first thing in my mind the minute I landed, and I've already kept my eye on this cafe/restaurant. Merchant's Lane is located in Jalan Petaling, not far from Chinatown. You have to search for the blue door with "Merchant's Lane" sign above the door - written on a mirror glass. Go upstair, and you will find a quite spacious dining area with a high ceiling.

The first area is an indoor space with a small bar, the second one is an outdoor area which is also the smoking area, and at the very back you will find a smaller indoor area with a lower ceiling.

Since the building is an old traditional shop house, Merchant's Lane has an authentic interior that combines traditional Malay style interior with a modern chic semi-Cineleisure design. With a touch of old wood and plants, it made a perfect combination for a place to have your favourite ice coffee or your choice of Merchant's lane signature dishes. Feels like home!
